29 June, Isleworth –

We are delighted to announce that Isleworth & Syon School has been nationally recognised for exceptional performance in 2017-18. We can confirm that we have accepted an invitation to join the Leading Edge network, run by SSAT (the schools, students and teachers network). The network a national group of exclusively high-performing secondary and special schools. Leading Edge supports schools in collaborating to raise achievement, develop innovative new ideas and share practical strategies within the network and across the school system to benefit all students.

Membership of this national network is by invitation only; this follows an in-depth analysis of national attainment data from the Department of Education and Ofsted. It is exclusively available to schools that are consistently high-performing. Current data shows that boys at Isleworth & Syon are performing well beyond boys locally or nationally, with progress data being in the top 5% of schools nationally.

SSAT’s Chief Executive Sue Williamson said, “We are delighted to welcome Isleworth & Syon School to our Leading Edge network. It is a credit to the hard work of all of their staff and students that they have been recognised as high-performing and we look forward to working with them.’

Isleworth & Syon’s Headteacher Euan Ferguson commented, “We are excited to be joining a group of outstanding schools and look forward to collaborating with similar organisations across the country. We always focus on improvement at school to ensure that we provide the very best education for our boys and Sixth Form girls. The new partnership will allow us to work with like-minded colleagues as we continue to innovate and develop.”
