The English department at Isleworth & Syon is committed to supporting students to become confident and critical learners who develop an appreciation for the richness of the English language. We believe that English is at the heart of the curriculum and that supporting students’ literacy through their learning in English will have a hugely positive impact on their success across all subjects and in the world of work. Our bespoke curriculum encourage our students to be inquisitive, engaged and independent learners who can use the English Language accurately and effectively in a variety of different contexts. We aim to foster a love of literature, encouraging our students to develop an appreciation of the joys of independent reading and an understanding of the world around them.

As a department, we organise a number of extra-curricular activities for students of all ages. These include:
