Key Stage 4 Options

Introduction

Thank you for your interest in the Key Stage 4 Options process. All students in Year 9 undertake this process during the Spring and Summer Terms, to select the subjects that they will study at Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11).

The Key Stage 4 Courses Evening took place on Thursday 16 March 2023. Mr McAlinden’s PowerPoint presentation from the evening is available to view.

Please read all of the sections below completely and thoroughly.

Before Your Application

Before completing your application, ensure that you read the Key Stage 4 Course Booklet completely and thoroughly. This booklet contains vital curriculum information about each of the subjects that Isleworth & Syon will be offering from 2023-2025.

View the booklet below:

  • Completing Your Application

All Key Stage 4 course choices must be submitted electronically through the application form. Students were emailed the direct link on Monday 20 March.

Students will make three firm choices, as well as three reserve choices from Options 2 & 3. Your reserve selections must not be the same as your previous three choices. Please note that all options are preferences, but they cannot be guaranteed. There must be sufficient interest in each course for it to be run.

Students must select different subjects for all of their choices; students should not choose the same subject in more than one option box.

At Key Stage 4, Isleworth & Syon School offers a mixture of GCSE and vocational courses.

If you have any queries about the application process, please email Mr McAlinden directly.

If you are experiencing technical difficulties with the application form, please contact comms@isleworthsyon.org. Please note that the application form functions best on Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox web browsers; we request that you do not use Internet Explorer or Safari to complete the form.

    After Your Application

Once your application has been submitted, it will pass to Mr McAlinden, Pastoral Leader for Years 8 & 9, who will consider your submission.

Students will be contacted towards the end of the Summer Term 2023, once the data has been processed.

If you wish to make any amendments to your application after submission, please do this by contacting Mr McAlinden via email – do not submit a new form.
