On Friday evening (6 February), five Year 11 students took part in a West London Schools Weightlifting competition, held at the Green School for Girls. This is the first time that Isleworth & Syon students have competed in an event like this, which tested the students’ strength and skill, as they were given three attempts at the snatch and the clean and jerk.
The competition came at the end of ten weeks of training, conducted by local coach Kazem Panjavi, which formed part of their GCSE P.E. course. Well done to Diagoro Fortune, Harpreet Nandra, Tamim Noor, Tayyib Noor and Prince Radhakrishnan, who were all a credit to Isleworth & Syon during the competition.
