The House Points totals displayed on the homepage, and around the school, have been reset. The totals now highlight the points that have been gained during this term only.

We can now reveal the final House Points for the Autumn Term. Throughout the term, we calculate each student’s individual total by subtracting their negatives from their positives. These are organised by house and then added together to create a Positives – Negatives total for each house; these figures are updated regularly throughout the term on the school website and on the digital signage in the foyer and main corridor of the school. At the end of the Autumn Term, these scores put Turner in a commanding lead (5981), followed by Shackleton (5764) and, finally, Brunel (5563).

Students are then awarded further points for their Attitude to Learning throughout the term, which is graded on a 1-4 system (1 being the best; 4 the worst). Students demonstrating a good attitude to learning, gaining a 1 or a 2, earn four and three points respectively. If the boys have demonstrated a poor attitude in the classroom, and earned a 3 or 4, they only get two and one point(s) respectively. According to the data, Turner house demonstrated the best attitudes in the Autumn (865), followed by Shackleton (849) and Brunel (826).

The final total, however, is not purely based on behaviour and attitude, as student participation in various House activities is also heavily taken into account. The top-participating House earns 300 points towards their final total, with 200 for 2nd and 100 for 3rd. Click here to view these totals.

Autumn Term Final House Positions

Well done to Shackleton (7513) in first place. Turner finished the term in second, with 7446, while Brunel were third (7289). This same process will take place at the end of the next two terms. In the last week of the school year, we will calculate a definitive total, and crown the House Champion.
