We were delighted with such an impressive turnout of prospective parents/carers and students for this year’s Open Evening, which took place on Wednesday 5 October. Our guests were taken on tours of the school by students in Years 8, 10 and 12, while students in Years 7, 9, 11 and 13 assisted in curriculum areas. The visitors were given the opportunity to take part in the many interactive displays spread around the school; to see evidence of the fantastic work of our current students; and to talk to the students and members of staff.

The feedback from the visitors was extremely positive – you can view just some of the comments above. Many guests made a point of complimenting the boys for their manners, politeness, and knowledge of the school. The students who took the tours or who were working in the departments were excellent ambassadors for the school and were a real credit to their families. Our thanks to them for their commitment and contribution throughout the evening.

The Headteacher, Euan Ferguson, gave a short address during the evening, outlining his core beliefs and the ethos of the school. As an educational institution, we strive to be outstanding in every respect, an ethos that informs all that we do, be it through our high-quality teaching and learning; our rich and varied extra-curricular provision and the traditions that we uphold. Mr Ferguson explained how the school demonstrates a strong commitment to the pursuit of learning, not purely for the attainment of formal qualifications but with the intention of helping our students grow as individuals into mature, considerate and confident young men. There is no doubt that Isleworth & Syon is the best choice for local boys, and we are consistently proud of the achievements of those who study here.

For those who were unable to attend on the evening, the school will also be hosting two more Open Mornings. These offer prospective parents/carers the chance to undertake a short tour of the school, seeing how we operate on a day-to-day basis. The Open Morning tours are scheduled as follows:

Tuesday 11 October 2016
Wednesday 19 October 2016

On each morning, tours will take place at 9.00am and 9.45am. They are by appointment only, to book, please telephone the school reception on 020 8568 5791.

Our boys out-perform their counterparts in local mixed schools and enjoyed record-breaking results this summer. We do hope that prospective parents/carers enjoyed their tours of the school. Please be reminded that applications are made through the Local Authority and should be completed by midnight on Monday 31 October 2016 for entry in September 2017.
