Our Alumni
Introduction
Isleworth & Syon is a school with long-standing heritage and traditions, with hundreds of thousands of students passing the threshold during the school’s long history. At Isleworth & Syon, students form a bond with the staff and the school, and so we are keen to maintain relationships with our alumni once they have moved on to pastures new.
Isleworth & Syon welcomes visits from alumni, and has hosted several reunions in the last few years. The latest of these – involving the class of 1968 – was a massive success, with thirty-two ex-students returning to their place of secondary education. They came from as far and wide as Canada, France and even New Zealand, receiving a tour of the school. If you are an old boy who wishes to visit, please contact us.

Taheen ModakBroadway Star
Taheen Modak
We were delighted to see former student Taheen Modak performing on the Broadway theatre stage in New York, USA. He played Benvolio in ‘Romeo and Juliet', alongside Rachel Zegler (‘West Side Story') and Kit Connor (Netflix's ‘Heartstopper').
Taheen left school after Year 13 in 2014 to pursue his dreams of becoming a professional actor. After three years at the Bristol Old Vic drama school, Taheen began securing roles in top productions. You may have seen him on television, starring as DS Med Kharim in ITV's ‘The Bay' or in ‘Two Weeks to Live' (Sky), opposite Maisie Williams (‘Game of Thrones'). He has also regularly appeared in the West End, most recently last year in ‘Pygmalion' at the Old Vic. In October, he starred in the Channel 5 television show, ‘The Hardacres' as part of the main cast.
Taheen's story is a great example of how the arts can inspire and invigorate young people. It is fair to say that during Key Stage 3, he was not a model student. At GCSE level, the performing arts team nurtured him, and he discovered a passion for drama that has led him to this point. We are so proud of Taheen for the hard work and commitment to development that has allowed him to reach this point!

Raymond AnumNew York Actor
Raymond Anum
Taheen was not the only former student making waves “across the pond”. Indeed, his vocational performing arts classmate, Raymond Anum (pictured right above), had similar success during 2024-25. Fresh from performing in Kenneth Branagh's ‘King Lear' in the West End in 2023, Raymond was part of the show's off-Broadway transfer, starting at the end of October 2024. He played Burgundy in the adaptation of Shakespeare's classic tragedy and received high praise for his performance. It is such a pleasure to see our students flourishing on the international stage.

Reece JamesFootballer
Reece James
Former student Reece James continues his successes at the very top of professional football. He is currently the first-team men's captain at Chelsea FC at the age of just 25. After a couple of injury-hit seasons, we were delighted to watch Reece's resilience as he re-emerged as a key player for Chelsea in the second half of the season, resulting in him lifting the UEFA Conference League trophy in May, and leading the Blues to be crowned as World Champions the same July.
For those who are not aware of Reece's I&S story, he attended our school from Years 7-9, before leaving to join a school closer to Chelsea's training ground. He represented the school in the football team, of course, and won several sporting awards during his time at school.
After a season ‘managing his minutes' and helping Reece stay fit, we hope that the 2025-26 season will see more game time and sustained success for an outstanding footballer.

Myles Peart-HarrisFootballer
Myles Peart-Harris
Former student Myles Peart-Harris has continued his development as a professional footballer. Like Reece, Myles moved to Cobham at the end of Year 9 to pursue his football dreams, joining the Chelsea FC academy. He experienced great success at junior level, before signing a senior contract with Brentford FC in 2021. In January, Brentford renewed Myles' option for another twelve months, until the end of 2025-26.
They have been very happy with his development over a series of loan spells, with League One sides Forest Green Rovers (2022-23, pictured) and Portsmouth (2021-22) and, this season with Swansea City, who finished 11th in the Championship table – the English second division. A lively attacking midfielder at home both on the right or the left, Myles made 31 appearances over the season, contributing three goals and four assists before the loan was cut short by injury. His manager, Luke Williams, commented, “I think he's a young player who didn't play at the level before and is very quickly adapting and then doing a bit more than adapting, he is looking like he's feeling more and more comfortable.” It is always such a thrill to see our former students succeeding!

Johnny ByamunguCoach
Johnny Byamungu
During the Autumn Term, one of our former students appeared on the BBC London news. Johnny Byamungu, who left us in July 2023 after eight years at school, was highlighting his struggles with a rare kidney condition. Born with Prune Belly Syndrome, Johnny had a kidney transplant at the young age of 16.
Fast-forward four years and he is now coaching primary students in Richmond. He also represented England in the football Transplant World Cup earlier this year. We are really proud of how hard he has worked to get to this point; scan the QR code to read a BBC news article.
The Isleworthians
The school also has links with The Isleworthians. Founded over a hundred years ago as the ‘Old Isleworthians’, the school maintained strong sporting links with Isleworth Grammar School, a relationship that persisted following the merge with Syon School for Boys, and remains to this day.
It operates several successful sports clubs and social functions, and hosts the school’s annual cricket match against the MCC in June. All students are invited to join the Isleworthians Association when they leave school. The school is very grateful for the support it has received from the Association over the years.
