World Book Day 2026
World Book Day took place on Thursday 5 March, and we held more activities on the day than ever before! Reading is a key pillar of life at Isleworth & Syon School, with all students expected to read for pleasure for at least 20 minutes a night. We know that reading broadens children's horizons and contributes to their development too.
The English team prepared a series of activities to celebrate students' love of books. This included:
- Reading quest called 'For the Love of Reading' - asking as many staff as possible about the books they have read and their impact.
- Bumper quiz, with 45 book-related questions and anagrams to solve.
- Design a bookmark competition in class.
- The World Book Day vouchers and free books display in the library.
It was a brilliant day designed to inspire students and get the discussion flowing. Well done to everyone for their participation!
