Theatre Trip - 'The Boy at the Back of the Class'

A group of Year 9 students had the opportunity to boost their “cultural capital” this February as they headed to the theatre. As a reminder, when we talk about “cultural capital” in school we mean exposing students to a range of cultural and creative experiences that can aid their development. This trip was a great example, as students headed to the Rose Theatre (Kingston) for a production of ‘The Boy at the Back of the Class’.

This performance is an adaptation of a novel by Onjali Q. Raúf – particularly relevant for this group of students as this has been one of the diverse range of texts they have been studying in class. Students were superb throughout this exciting production, particularly enjoying the more comedic elements of the play. Well done everyone for a fantastic trip which helped students connect with the novel’s themes of friendship and kindness.
