Royal Academy of Music Audition Workshop
RAM Audition Workshop 2026
Last week, we were delighted to host a prestigious and unique opportunity for some of our talented musicians. Our partnership work with the Royal Academy of Music (RAM) continued as we hosted a special after-school Audition Club workshop with some of their staff and students. The event was targeted at aspiring music students - those who are keen to continue their music journeys in Key Stage 4, Sixth Form and beyond. Indeed, several previous attendees to this event from our school have gone on to prestigious music colleges and schools, including the Royal Academy of Music itself! Other students who have taken part in this workshop have joined the RAM's junior academies on Saturdays. This all links in with our main careers mantra - "pathways, not corridors." This event helped students to see that first-hand!
The RAM is one of the most prestigious music conservatoires in the country, which meant that the students had unique insight into what goes in to an audition. Students were told to bring their instrument along and were given the chance for live feedback on their examination pieces and compositions. This will go a long way to helping students refine their work and achieve the best possible marks. It was a fantastic and unique session - thank you to the RAM for giving up the time to speak to our enthusiastic cohort. We were delighted that several students present will now take part in the RAM's Saturday junior academies, giving them access to some of the top music minds in the UK.
