MFL Poetry Live Regional Final

This year, we were again delighted to take part in the MFL Poetry Live competition, organised by St Mary's University, Twickenham. This London-wide event for Year 8 students focused on spoken poetry performance - with a twist! Students must recite in French, German or Spanish. The competition celebrates language learning both for pleasure and challenge. It also helps non-native speakers develop their pronunciation as well as exploring literature in another culture.

The winner of our school competition was Tanay Aggarwal, who headed to the regional final to compete with over 60 students from 15 other West London schools. He performed two poems in Spanish, one of which was 'unseen' - meaning next-to-no preparation time! Tanay was brilliant and a credit to the school. Well done to him for showing great courage to perform in a language other than his own.
