GCSE Results 2026 - Reaping the Rewards
Year 11 students reap the rewards of five years of hard work, ambition and determination

20 August 2026, Isleworth – Isleworth & Syon had plenty to celebrate today as Year 11 students achieved an exceptional set of GCSE results. There were outstanding successes across the curriculum to highlight the school’s continued academic strength. This year’s positive outcomes showcase the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded young men that are ready for life in 21st-century Britain.
STEM subjects provided plenty to celebrate, with some exceptional individual performances across maths and science. Viraj Chauhan led the way with a remarkable 10 grades at 9-8, including grade 9s in maths, further maths and all three individual sciences. Classmate Sota Tanaka achieved ten grades at 9-7, six of them at grade 9, while Ridwan Ahmed, whose time at Isleworth & Syon has unlocked a passion for engineering, achieved seven grades at 9 or 8.
But Results Day at Isleworth & Syon celebrates much more than grades alone. Isleworth & Syon is proud to give every student a place to discover their own journey. The school has worked hard today to support every student as they move to the next stage of their learning. The thriving Sixth Form community continues to grow from September, with students looking forward to greater independence and developing new skills – as well as challenging themselves with leadership and volunteering opportunities.
Finley Thomas was another student who earned a clean sweep of 9s in biology, chemistry and physics, as well as a 9 as part of a fantastic set of French results. Finley was also part of the school’s under-16 rugby team which won the Middlesex Plate during 2025-26. That team’s captain, Mohammed Mirzai, was delighted this morning with nine grades at 9-7 including PE – one of many fantastic results across that GCSE group. The school’s outstanding programme of Saturday morning sport and fixtures is just one way that Year 11 embraced the school’s huge range of opportunities.
Another example is the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at Bronze and Silver levels. Graduates from the programme include Arman Sadat and Hussain Fazly, who earned a staggering 20 grades at 9-7 between them! Both students earned a 9 in history, capping a wonderful morning for that subject. Meanwhile, Sam Gilmour and Renil Nalli were regular musical performers in Winter Concerts and the Summer Arts Festival throughout their five years at school. They were also part of the school band which performed at the Royal Albert Hall and Brentford FC earlier this year. Both did brilliantly in their results with a string of top grades.

These outstanding results are the reward for years of hard work, ambition and determination. But we are equally proud of the young men behind the grades.
“We have watched this cohort grow in confidence and grasp the opportunities on offer. These enrichment experiences sit at the heart of an Isleworth & Syon education: encouraging boys to discover their interests, challenge themselves and develop the skills and character that will prepare them for whatever comes next. They should all be enormously proud of what they have achieved today.”
For those continuing into Isleworth & Syon Sixth Form, September marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Just last week, the school celebrated Sixth Form students progressing to leading universities and pursuing ambitions across engineering, healthcare, technology and the creative industries. This year's GCSE students will follow in their footsteps, with specialist teaching and personalised support as they prepare for university, apprenticeships and future careers.
As a school with a history stretching back almost 400 years, this year’s students become the latest generation of Isleworthians to build on that tradition, taking with them the friendships, experiences and values developed during their time at the school.
