External Review - A 'Very Good' School
The school treasures its ethos and values [and how] these values inform all academic, pastoral and enrichment programmes.
Earlier this term, we took part in a two-day external audit, led by practitioners from other schools. This intense audit was wide-ranging and, as well as conducting learning walks through subject lessons, involved an array of meetings with student ambassadors. We were delighted to be accredited as a ‘very good’ school with a “strong sense of community.”
The audit team also reported on how school leaders "expect students’ behaviour and learning to reflect their aspiration for a fully rounded education.” The team complimented the “orderly conduct” and “the responsible behaviour of students in and around the school at all times."
We were also commended in the following areas:
- Whole school literacy
- “Personalised” careers education
- The pastoral system
- The strength of pupil voice through an array of layered student leadership pathways.
The school was praised for its support for disadvantaged and SEND students, describing a “guiding principle” of “positive relationships”. Auditors observed lessons across all subjects and were highly impressed by how the curriculum as well as our extensive extra-curricular programme transforms our students into successful, confident and responsible citizens.

External Review - November 2025
The school is ambitious for all its students. The school's mission can be summed up as a constant striving for excellence, underpinned by a desire to produce ‘mature, confident and considerate’ young people.
