Badminton - Key Stage 4 County Champions!

Badminton County 2025-26

Following the impressive badminton borough victories for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, both teams headed to Stepney All Saints School to take part in the county round of the National Schools Badminton Championships. This competition pitted all the best teams from West London against each other. The prize? A place in the London final at the start of March.

There was plenty to play for, then, and our teams arrived at the venue in full confidence. The Key Stage 4 boys had a tough competition throughout, facing a series of challenging schools. They kept working hard as a team though and made their way to a final against Whitefriars School. This was their closest match to date but we were so proud of the boys’ resilience as they eventually triumphed and became county champions! Well done to the boys: Zeeshan Memon, Daniel Celestino, Jonas Pardo Buikus, Himank Bakshi and Fin Wood.

The Key Stage 3 group were dominant throughout the group stage of their competition, remaining undefeated. The latter rounds provided tougher tests but the boys dug in to reach a final against Hampton School. Unfortunately, this proved a round too far and the boys were very narrowly defeated. However, they should hold their heads up high for a magnificent performance. Well done to Miguel Ponchio Lamenza, Mikkel Malhi, Finn Barnes, Jay Byrepalli and Harry Fisher.

Keep an eye on this website and our social media for updates on the Key Stage 4 team’s process as they proceed to the regional finals in Gillingham. This is such an incredible achievement; no I&S team has reached this stage for over 15 years! Good luck to the boys.
