Alumni Rugby Match

In case you are not aware, all students become Isleworthians when they first join the school. This means that they are entitled to join the Old Isleworthians (Old I’s) association – located down at Wood Lane – at no cost. The club runs cricket, football and rugby teams as well as operating as a ‘social hub’ for the local community.
It is a long-standing tradition for the school to send a team to play a December sporting fixture against the Old I's. This year, head of PE Mr Mullins built a strong side of former students, made up of those that left between 2020 and 2025. Indeed, there was at least one player from each of those five school years. The I&S squad was a fantastic mix of alumni from all walks of life, including lawyers who studied at Cambridge; psychology graduates from King's College London; and several who successfully progressed through apprenticeship routes. What they had in common was a love of rugby and the school, as well as clear muscle memory for Mr Mullins' coaching!
The team knitted together superbly into a well-oiled unit that were too strong for a talented Old I's side. The I&S XV eventually ran out comfortably winners by 67 points to 24. This event was a brilliant opportunity for former students to be reunited with classmates and teachers alike, either on the sporting field or in the bar after the match. It was fantastic to see so many ex-students signing up for our brand new Alumni Network afterwards.
