A Level Geography Fieldwork - Brentford

Fieldwork is a key component of the A level geography course - it means taking students' classroom learning into the wider world. This hands-on approach allows students to better understand key concepts. This time around, the group headed on a local walking tour, exploring Brentford docks and the High Street. This is an area that has recently experienced a big regeneration, with new homes, shops and other community facilities. This then was an ideal way to support students' own research on regeneration as part of their coursework. Students were accompanied by Mr McAlinden during the trip who was able to point out some key real-life examples of how the area has been revitalised in order to balance inequality. The trip was very useful, with students returning to school eager to put pen to paper on what they had learned.
