13 March 2026

Dear Parent/Carer,

Year 11 Exam Busters Session – Easter 2026
Monday 30 March, 9.00 - 11.00am

We are pleased to offer Year 11 students an exciting opportunity on Monday 30 March, during the Easter break. It is an interactive learning experience called Strategies for Success, run by an external company. We have used them before and believe that, at this stage of the year, their input will be invaluable for Year 11.

As the GCSE examinations get closer, the key revision period of the Easter holiday needs to be utilised fully. This session, taking place at the start of the break, provides a high-energy and fast-paced initiative designed to help ensure that all students are prepared as much as possible for productive revision over the holidays. The workshop aims to increase examination performance by focusing on memory techniques, understanding and condensing text/entire topics, The Review Philosophy, and Growth Mindset. Students will also receive practical advice on how to relax and create a healthy learning environment for effective examination preparation.

We have secured this session at short notice and appreciate that this may impact family plans, meaning some students may not be able to attend. However, we do feel that the event will be beneficial to all our students.

Key Information

  • To book, we are asking for a £5 payment via SCOPAY. For every student who attends, the £5 will be refunded back to the original card that made the payment, making the event free of charge.
  • Students need to enter via the canteen entrance to sign in between 8.40am and 8.55am.
    • o Late students might not be admitted, and no refund will be given.
  • Student must be in full school uniform.
  • Usual high standards of conduct are expected.
    • o Students will be sent home if they are disrupting the experience for others.
