Whole School Production Audition – ‘Around the World In 80 Days’

We are very excited to announce that the Isleworth & Syon Whole School Production for this academic year will be… 

Jules Verne’s ‘Around the World in 80 Days’! 

The play is a family adventure story that follows Phileas Fogg as he tries to win a bet that he can travel around the world in 80 days. Along the way he must use trains, steamboats, elephants, and hot air balloons! It will be full of life and fun and we would love your son/ward to participate. The performance takes place on Thursday 4 and Friday 5 February 2027. 

Anyone from Years 7-10 who wishes to be involved are invited to audition: 

While an audition can sound intimidating, we promise that it is a painless and positive process. All students who audition will be offered a place in the production; the audition is an opportunity for students to be cast in specific roles and for the staff involved to meet them and answer any questions.

Following auditions, rehearsals will take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school from 3.15 - 4.30pm. Students will receive a schedule to let them know when they are needed to attend. Please note that students will not be required to attend every rehearsal unless they have been cast as a lead role.

As ever, our brilliant parents/carers are so important in encouraging and helping our students with their lines. You can find the audition scene below. We would be grateful for you to speak to your son/ward about this extraordinary opportunity.

Audition script 

FOGG – In eighty days, I have wagered my word and half my money that I shall make go around the world. Don’t worry about suitcases, we’ll take two carpet bags with the essentials and buy whatever we need along the way. We’ve only three minutes before we must leave for the station. 

Make sure to take the Bradshaw guide. It’s bound in red. It contains the timetables of every steamer and rail journey across the world. 

Take care of that bag, it has twenty thousand pounds in it!
