Dear Parent/Carer,
Knife Crime Workshop - Charlie's Promise Charity
Wednesday 17 June 2026
We write to inform you and make you aware about a forthcoming workshop which will strongly support our Personal, Health, Social, Economic (PSHE) education programme. The focus of the workshop is knife crime, a topic which contributes to our programme about personal safety and citizenship in the community.
The 60-minute workshop will take place on Wednesday 17 June 2026 during the school day. It will be delivered by facilitators from Charlie’s Promise, a charity dedicated to helping communities fight against the scourge of knife crime. Testimonials show that the charity presents the knife crime issue from a number of perspectives which students will finding both engaging and thought-provoking. Crucially, they are also an evidence-based charity, so will be utilising accurate information and almost real-time data in order to educate our students.
The bigger picture is that our involvement with this topic and, indeed, the charity demonstrates our ongoing willingness to grapple with and tackle sensitive, contextual issues.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours faithfully,
Simon Fisher and Jo Higginbottom
