4 September 2026
Dear Parent/Carer,
KS5-Ready Evening 2026
I am writing to invite you to our KS5-Ready Evening. The event will take place on Thursday 10 September 2026, at 5.30pm in the main hall. At Isleworth & Syon, we know that parent/carer support is a key factor in delivering student success. During the evening, details will be outlined as to how this important partnership between the student, the school and home can be strengthened.
“Parents have the greatest influence on the achievement of pupils through supporting their learning. It is their support of learning in the home environment that makes the maximum difference to achievement.”
-- Professor Alma Harris – ‘Do Parents Know They Matter?’
At the evening, Sixth Formers will receive their Student Handbook. There will be a presentation from me on school life and expectations which will refer to the handbook. In addition, our Student Voice team will explore ways in which students can make the most of their Sixth Form journey.
A range of resources, including the Sixth Form section of the school website, will be demonstrated to attendees on the night. If you have individual questions, Year 13 ambassadors will be available to speak to you.
The evening is expected to last approximately 45 minutes and will start promptly at 5.30pm. Due to limited space, only one parent/carer can attend with each student.
Please complete the online form (sent via email) to confirm your attendance to the evening.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday 10 September.
Yours faithfully,
Mr D West
Sixth Form Leader
