Dear Parent/Carer,

Extended Project Presentations
Thursday 12 November, 3.15 - 4.30pm

We are pleased to inform you that the school is offering the chance for your child/ward to be part of the audience for this academic year’s EPQ presentations. A group of Year 13 students have been completing their Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) on a topic of their choice and as part of the qualification they must present their findings to an audience of non-specialists.

The event will consist of eight insightful and independently researched presentations lasting up to 15 minutes, with a Q&A from the audience for each. The presentations cover topics such as:

  • Plagiarism in the world of AI
  • Music’s social and emotional impact at certain points in life
  • Cybersecurity and cyberwarfare in the contemporary world
  • How has queer subtext in gothic literature been adapted to screen, and
  • What makes good fiction?

This is a wonderful opportunity for students across the school to see the level of work being completed by our most senior students and be inspired to think about the breadth of possibilities that academic research provides. The EPQ is long standing tradition at Isleworth & Syon, which for many has been an incredibly valuable experience in preparation for university and apprenticeships.

Next Steps

If your child is interested, please encourage them to sign up for this event via the link sent by email.

Thank you for your support.

Yours faithfully,

Mr P Jackson
