26 June 2026
Dear Parent/Carer,
Heatwave Update: Confirmed Arrangements for 29 June – 3 July
With the red Heat Health Alert due to end tonight (26 June) at 11.00pm, we are pleased to confirm that school will return to normal next week. Usual timetable and expectations will apply, including for uniform.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank students, families and staff for making this week as smooth as possible. We have been very impressed with the resilience and self-discipline on display to ensure that lesson time is maximised in spite of the difficult conditions. We know that it is not been easy or ideal but we are pleased that lessons and assessments have been able to continue.
Track and Field Championships – Friday 3 July
A reminder that this event for Years 7-10 is now taking place on Friday 3 July. We have updated the website letter with the new date – please do take a read to re-familiarise yourself with the arrangements. Remember that all letters on the website can be translated into another language – just follow the instructions on the page.
Internal Examinations
Thank you for your support with the re-arrangements of internal examinations, which continues next week. We emailed Years 7, 10 and 12 on Wednesday with specific details about these changes.
Filming
On Wednesday next week (1 July), we will be welcoming a professional crew into school to shoot some video content to support school publicity. They will be accompanied by members of staff, visiting targeted classes and activities to capture the life of our wonderful school.
Students will be informed next week if they will be used in the filming. They will also be told if their parent/carer has previously said ‘no’ to them being featured. As a reminder, if parents/carers wish to change their ongoing wishes regarding media consents, they can do so at any time via the link included in the letter sent by email.
Thank you once again for your continued support.
Yours faithfully,
Simon Fisher and Jo Higginbottom
