Terrence Stevens - Alumnus and Actor
Isleworth & Syon School has a rich history of students making careers in the performing arts, including Taheen Modak performing on Broadway to Raymond Anum appearing in a Star Wars TV show; Arthur Moore at LAMDA studying stage management and Ellis Bloom blossoming as a stage manager in the West End. The latest entrant to this impressive history is Terrence Stevens, who left at the end of Year 11 to join ArtsEd drama school.
Earlier this term, Mr McDonnell (head of performing arts) visited the school to see Terrence perform in his third-year school showcase (pictured above). Terrence played the role of Commander in ‘Bad Roads’ by Natal'ya Vorozhbit, a hard-hitting piece based in a war-torn Ukraine. His performance showcased Terrence’s skill as an actor and the hard work he has put in since leaving the school in 2020.
Mr McDonnell said, “All the time I was watching his performance I was thinking back to his time at Isleworth & Syon. I still remember him in Year 7 studying drama on Period 1 on a Monday, so to see him as a man commanding the stage with such ease is such a pleasure”. Terrence was also watched by Raymond Anum (pictured right), who has also helped Terrence prepare for drama school as his next step. It is a testament to both the students and to the school that have been able to achieve their goals of becoming professional actors.
We asked Terrence to sum up his journey so far:
"I’m very grateful for the journey and the growth that I’ve made so far. Of course, this is the beginning of a chaotic marathon that I hope many people, including the school can witness and celebrate. Performing on stage for my third year play was a big milestone for myself and the people around me."
