Bett UK Trip

We work hard in school to give students outstanding opportunities beyond the classroom – experiences that can enrich and build on what they learn in school. The computing team organised a great example in January, taking vocational IT students to Bett UK at the ExCel London.

Bett UK is the world’s leading event for educational technology, bringing together educators and industry experts to showcase the innovations shaping the future of learning. For this group of Sixth Form students, the experience was invaluable for seeing how technology is used beyond the classroom, as well as supporting skills being developed through their studies.

During the visit, students had the chance to explore interactive exhibits, take part in hands-on activities, and speak directly with industry experts. Students particularly enjoyed seeing several displays of advanced robotics in action! A big theme of this year’s event was how artificial intelligence is affecting education, and students found this very interesting – indeed, when asked the most valuable thing they learned on the trip, each and every student highlighted this. The conversation followed the boys back into the classroom as they reflected on how they could use their experience in their next unit about developing an educational game. Well done to the students for being outstanding Isleworthians throughout.
