Ollie Harriss - Brentford FC Under-13 Tour

Last month I went on tour to France, Belgium and the Netherlands with the Brentford FC under-13 team. It was a great experience and a great opportunity to play against other nations and see all different styles of playing football. The coach departed at 5.00am Friday morning; after a long drive, we got onto the ferry where we had breakfast and arrived at Dunkirk at 1.00pm. Then, we travelled to FC Coquelles to play our first match. After a tough 90 minutes against the French side, we won 4-3 then made our way to our first accommodation, a hotel in France.

On Saturday morning, we woke up, had breakfast then headed out on the coach to Belgium where we had a stadium tour of the KAA Gent stadium. It was a good tour and nice to see one of the best stadiums in Belgium. Next, we got back on the coach and arrived in the Netherlands where we played against a strong Dutch side called Delta Sports. Unfortunately, we lost against a team with a very well deserved win after a great match.

After this match, we got to go bowling and had a nice meal afterwards. Then we went to our second accommodation where we found out our roommates and went to our chalet in Marvilla Parks. On Sunday, we had an early start to travel to FC VVC and play our final game. We won convincingly and after we were treated to a pool party back at the waterpark in Marvilla Parks.

Next we went back to our chalets for a few hours of free time before going to sleep for our final night on tour. Finally, before we left we went to the park and travelled back home where we arrived back at 8.00pm to end our terrific tour.
